JEAN NHAM, O.D.
Dr. Jean Nham is the primary optometrist and owner of Uptown Family Vision. She was born and raised in Blytheville, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Arkansas (woo pig sooie!) with a B.S. in biology, she earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she received extensive clinical training in the areas of ocular disease, contact lens fitting, low vision, vision therapy, and pediatric optometry.
Dr. Nham is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Nham is enjoying life as mama to Beau and Ruthie. These two definitely keep her on her toes, but when she can catch a break, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, traveling, DIY home projects, and spending time with her family and dogs, Dickens and Lala.
Alex Nham is the husband of Jean Nham and co-owner of Uptown Family Vision. Alex was born and raised in the north suburbs of Chicago living his youth in Glenview, IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. degree in molecular and cellular biology, and George Washington University with a Master’s degree in forensic molecular biology.
Alex has always wanted to own his own business, and after working as a forensic biologist for five years, he was able to fulfill his dream and open Uptown Family Vision. He is excited to partner with his wife to offer excellent eye and vision care and an unparalleled selection of eyewear for every member of the family.
Outside of the office, Alex spends the majority of his time being a new father to son Beau. Alex’s other interests include brewing beer and Olympic weightlifting, in which he is a competitive athlete. More often than not, he is just trying to keep up with Beau and Dickens.
Mary Dravecky is the Patient Care Coordinator for Uptown Family Vision. Mary was born and raised in Chicago. She has experience in several different fields of work, but has found her true passion in helping people see. Mary has worked in the optical industry for over twelve years, both as an optician and assistant manager.
Mary has extensive experience in scheduling appointments, handling insurance details, helping patients choose a look that suits them best, and doing whatever needs to be done to help the practice run efficiently.
In her spare time Mary enjoys cooking, gardening, making beautiful gift baskets, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. You can find her most days in the kitchen making big family meals.
