Our Family

Drs. Raechelle and Andrew Paik were born and raised in the Chicagoland area. They graduated together from the Illinois College of Optometry and have over 30 years of experience combined. They have long dreamed of owning a private practice in the same town in which they live, so they are very excited to fulfill their dream and become the new owners of Uptown Family Vision.

Drs. Raechelle and Andrew are board-certified optometrists in the treatment and management of ocular disease, but they specialize in primary eye care and contact lens fitting for the entire family. They plan to introduce and incorporate the latest equipment and technology at Uptown Family Vision including an automated refraction system, digital retinal imaging and specialized testing and treatment for dry eye disease. They are very passionate about serving their community through their profession both locally and abroad.

Mary Dravecky is the Patient Care Coordinator for Uptown Family Vision. Mary was born and raised in Chicago. She has experience in several different fields of work, but has found her true passion in optical.

Mary has worked in the optical field for over 20 years and has held various positions.She has extensive experience in scheduling appointments, insurance details, helping patients choose a look that suits them best and doing whatever needs to be done to help the practice run efficiently.

The optical field has an extra special place in her heart, her son was diagnosed with a brain tumor over 25 years ago after several symptoms and having an eye exam. Technology has improved over the years and eye exams are now required more than they were years ago. So, Mary knows the importance of eye exams for people of all ages. Today, thankfully he is well and doing great.
In her spare time Mary enjoys cooking,entertaining, decorating, country music and spending time with her family especially her granddaughters.

Brandon Sokol is the Optometric Technician for Uptown Family Vision. He handles the pre-testing portion of patient exams, operating equipment to gather valuable information on each patient’s ocular health. Brandon also provides training for new contact lens wearers. As a glasses and contact veteran himself, he is passionate about helping everyone achieve clear sight. 

His favorite frame line is David Spencer because it offers high-quality glasses in an array of styles that range from elegant and classic to bold and wacky.

A native of Chicagoland, Brandon holds a degree in operatic performance from DePaul University and has had the pleasure of singing with such institutions as the Chicago Symphony Chorus and Grant Park Festival Chorus. Onstage, he’s been featured in operatic roles with many Chicago-based opera companies. In his free time, Brandon enjoys tending to his cactus collection, reading offbeat literature, and maintaining his New York Times crossword puzzle streak.
